About Dr. Lawrence Zola
Dr. Zola has been the director of University Animal Hospital since 1989. After earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1978 from the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Dean’s List student, Dr. Zola was accepted to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. After four years of study, he was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1982, giving him over 25 years of quality experience as a general practitioner. Following veterinary school, he was selected for an internship in medicine and surgery at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City. In addition to general medicine, some of Dr. Zola’s professional interests include ophthalmology, internal medicine and pediatrics.
Dr. Zola believes in continuing education and attends several local and national veterinary medicine conferences each year. He maintains membership in the New York City Veterinary Medical Association, New York State Veterinary Medical Society and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Zola also has been appointed to the Leadership Committee for the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University.
A USDA Certified Veterinarian, Dr. Zola has the authority to issue international health certificates for pets traveling to foreign countries. He also issues certificates of travel for The Pet Travel Scheme which allows pets to enter the United Kingdom without quarantine.
