Low Residue is back! Effective immediately, we are now re-stocking a limited supply of foods that had been affected by the Iams and Eukanuba Voluntary Food Recall.

Proctor and Gamble have made us aware of the many changes that they have made to improve safety and compliance, to make sure that your pet is getting the most nutritious, healthy, and complete diet available. P&G have invested over 20 million dollars in processes, equipment and people at their manufacturing facilities to upgrade their manufacturing facilities. To date, there has not been a single case of salmonella-related illnesses in pets or people linked to the recalled food.

FDA Issues Consumer Alert on Online Pharmacies

When it comes to purchasing veterinary drugs online, buyers should beware, says a top official from the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Veterinary Medicine.

In fact, in a consumer alert issued today, Dr. Martine Hartogensis, director of FDA’s Office of Surveillance and Compliance, says that while some websites selling veterinary drugs represent legitimate businesses, others do not.

In fact, FDA regulators have documented unscrupulous practices relating to the sale of unapproved and counterfeit pet drugs, dispensing of Rx drugs without a prescription and sale of expired drugs. Some sites make fraudulent claims about a drug

Important Notice– Recall of Select Iams Veterinary Formula Dry Dog or Cat food and Select Eukanuba products!!

Proctor and Gamble voluntarily recalled two specific lots of renal dry cat food on June 25,2010 due to a possible salmonella health risk. As a further precaution, Proctor and Gamble is now expanding the voluntarily recall to include additional veterinary formulas and some specialized Eukanuba dry pet food.

No illnesses have been reported, but in cooperation with the FDA, P&G
determined that some product may have been contaminated. As a precautionary measure, P&G is suspending operations at the facility these items were made and recalling all dry pet food manufactured within this plant.

No canned food, biscuits/treats, or supplements are affected by this announcement.

Products Involved:

  • Iams Veterinary Formulas — All dry sizes and varieties.
  • Eukanuba Naturally Wild — All dry sizes and varieties
  • Eukanuba Pure — All dry sizes and varieties
  • Eukanuba Custom Care Sensitive Skin — All dry sizes

If you have purchased any food on the recall list, please throw away any unused food and contact P&G at 877-340-8823 to get directions on how to get a refund. No receipts are necessary, and refunds apply to unopened bags as well as party used bags.

Anyone owning the food should throw it out. Pets can become infected and people handling the dry pet food can become infected with salmonella as well if they do not wash their hands.

Salmonella is a group of bacteria that can cause illness in people and pets. If your pet has eaten the product(s) mentioned above and is experiencing diarrhea, fever, or vomiting, please make an appointment with your veterinarian. If you or one of your family members has handled any of these products and is experiencing any symptoms, please contact your physician immediately.
